CHARLES, MO – Elijah Weddle has joined Wiegmann Associates as Controls Engineer. Weddle is responsible for designing, installing and troubleshooting Delta Controls’ building automation systems for commercial and industrial HVAC systems for Wiegmann clients. He also consults with project engineers in Wiegmann’s engineering department to ensure that project designs satisfy control standards.
Weddle is a 2024 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds an Associate of Science in Engineering from Illinois Central College. Weddle also is an Interior Electrician Team Lead with the Illinois Army National Guard.
During his time at SIUE, Weddle was president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers where he formed a competition team in order to increase student involvement. He helped grow the club from five to 40 students. He brings three years of experience in mechanical and robotic engineering, including internships with Purdue University and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Through work at a Continuous Improvement Engineering Co-Op, Weddle developed a robotic grinding cell to increase automation efficiency in a manufacturing plant and designed end-of-arm tooling and fixturing for multiple automated cells. He also implemented improvements in high-volume production lines to decrease run times.
