PROJECT CHALLENGE/SOLUTION
The Fort Lee Lodging Facility is the largest Army lodging facility in the continental United States. Wiegmann furnished and installed the HVAC systems for more than 1000 individual rooms and the common core spaces throughout all seven wings of the newly built facility.
We provided value engineering and design assist to the engineer of record to make sure the project was in budget. We managed all aspects of the mechanical construction to ensure that the design achieved the project objectives, costs were effectively managed and energy goals were met. We also coordinated with the other trades to make sure the installation was streamlined.
The HVAC systems included individual packaged terminal units in the individual rooms and dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) for ventilation of individual rooms and common core areas. Our onsite representatives effectively worked with the project team to overcome challenges as a result of the physical size of the project.
